The South Siberian Cemetery of Oglakty from the Han Period.
In the Проблемы истории материальной культуры (referred to in the following pages as Пробл.), the review of the State Academy for the History of Material Culture (ГАИМК), for 1933, parts 7-8, pp. 34 sq., the deserving young Siberian explorer G.P. Sosnovsky describes an interesting cemetery find, excavated in the village of Oglakty (Oglaktino) in the Minusinsk district in 1903 by the amateur archaeologist A.V. Adrianov, 1 the old champion of liberty and revolution, who was shot in Tomsk in 1920 as a counter-revolutionary. Since I first began to study the archaeology of Siberia this very unique cemetery has interested me, and the museum in Helsinki has on two separate occasions secured good photographs (plates 5008-5034 of the Russian Archaeological Commission) of the find which is now exhibited in the Historical Museum in Moscow. Adrianov’s report on the excavations forms the basis for the new materials published by Sosnovsky. 2 The following pages reproduce the essential parts of this essay,
